My research interests are broadly in the areas of structural dynamics, earthquake engineering, structural system identification, structural reliability modeling, fire structural safety, and treatment of uncertainties in engineering problems. Our work employs both computational and experimental tools.
Recent research from our group has addressed problems of time variant reliability estimation using Girsanov’s transformation methods, Bayesian filtering for system parameter and dynamic state identification, error characterization and control in hybrid simulations of earthquake response, development of model distance based global response sensitivity indices, treatment of polymorphic uncertainty models in treatment of aleatoric and epistemic uncertainties, and stochastic analysis of heated structures.
